Why choose PRECIBEO GO?

Explore the GO linear-stage specifications.

Fine motion over long travel

GO linear axes combine 2 nm sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion with centimeter-scale travel.

Compact building blocks

GO-LS stages are 45 mm wide and 14 mm high individually, with the GO-LS4545 weighing 75 g without cable and connector.

High force density

5 N and 10 N linear-stage versions support demanding positioning and vertical lifting.

Responsive positioning

Piezo walking drives provide smooth continuous motion, fast move-and-settle behavior and self-locking at rest.

Flexible integration

Combine translation, elevation and rotation using compatible mechanical interfaces and a common controller platform.

Choose your multi-axis configuration

Combine individual stages into a multi-axis system with the travel and mounting arrangement your application needs.

Miniature XY stages for precision planar positioning

An XY positioning stage, also called an XY table, combines two linear piezo stages for independent X and Y motion. Choose 20, 35 or 50 mm travel per axis for a motorized XY stage that handles both sample repositioning and fine adjustment.

The low-profile GO-LS modules form a compact XY positioner for instruments where space and sample access matter.

Precision XYZ stages for three-dimensional positioning

An XYZ positioning stage adds a vertical axis for height adjustment, focusing and alignment. Configure your XYZ positioner with 20, 35 or 50 mm Z travel using GO-LS, or 10 mm with GO Elevation's flat moving top.

Every GO linear-stage format supports the same force-dependent vertical lifting performance, giving your XYZ translation stage a choice of travel and mounting geometry.

Combine translation and rotation

Add GO-RS4545 to form an XY-theta or XYZ-theta assembly for angular alignment alongside linear positioning.

High-force vertical positioning in every linear-stage format

Every GO linear stage is equally suitable for vertical travel. Piezo walking technology combines high force density with fine positioning, making vertical motion a strength across the range.

GO Elevation combines 10 mm travel with a flat moving top in a compact vertical lift stage. GO Vertical Mounts integrate any GO-LS format as a motorized Z stage with 20, 35 or 50 mm travel. Choose the precision vertical stage that gives your sample, optics or tooling the required travel and mounting access.

For an assembly, size the vertical axis for everything it lifts: the application payload, fixtures and any stages mounted above it. Allow for load offsets and cable forces when selecting the configuration.

Add precision rotation

Combine linear positioning with the GO-RS4545 for continuous rotation, 10 µ° sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion, and at least 90 mN·m operating and power-off holding torque.

Its absolute optical encoder supports closed-loop angular positioning. The Rotation Stage Adapter Plate enables a GO linear stage to mount on top of a GO rotation stage. Plan cable routing around the required angular travel, especially when the rotating platform carries other stages.

Control the complete system

GO Controllers are required to operate the stages. Each controls up to three stages simultaneously; two daisy-chained controllers provide up to six axes through the same computer connection.

Use GO Motion or GO Command, integrate through Precibeo ASCII Rapid, LabVIEW drivers or DLLs, or add a GO Joystick for direct manual positioning. Closed-loop point-to-point control combines encoder feedback, PID regulation and trapezoidal velocity profiles.

An XY, XYZ or XY-theta assembly fits within one controller’s three-axis capacity. A four-axis XYZ-theta assembly requires two controllers.

High vacuum

10⁻⁴ Pa

Multi-axis positioning in high vacuum

High-vacuum XY, XYZ and XY-theta assemblies support operation down to 10⁻⁴ Pa. Combine HV stages with suitable mounts, adapters and chamber cabling to bring the modular GO platform into vacuum instruments.

Specify the complete in-vacuum configuration, including feedthroughs and moving cables, when selecting your system.

How to choose your positioning system

GO linear stages specify 2 nm sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion, with typical ±100 nm bidirectional repeatability over full travel. Complete-assembly performance also depends on the axis arrangement, alignment and operating conditions.

  1. Define the motion

Select XY, XYZ, XY-theta or XYZ-theta and the travel required on each axis, including the Z-axis stage.

  2. Arrange the stages

Account for working height, sample access, mounting surfaces and the required rotation axis.

  3. Size the payload

Include carried stages and fixtures, center-of-gravity offsets, force, torque and speed under load.

  4. Specify performance at the sample

Consider repeatability, straightness, flatness, pitch, yaw and mounting alignment alongside resolution.

  5. Complete the system

Select controllers, software interfaces, accessories and standard or HV construction.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 2 nm linear-axis specification mean 2 nm accuracy at the sample?

The 2 nm figures describe sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion. Positioning accuracy at the sample depends on the complete mechanical arrangement and its errors.

Should I choose stacked stages or a hexapod?

Stacked stages let you select individual linear and rotary axes around the travel and layout you need. For applications requiring translation and rotation in all six degrees of freedom, also explore Precibeo’s six-axis stages.
