PRECIBEO GO rotation stages
Microdegree motion. Unlimited rotation. Compact design.
PRECIBEO GO piezo rotation stages combine 10 µ° sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion with unlimited angular travel. Position your payload with closed-loop control, move it with 90 mN·m operating torque, and hold it securely with the drive self-locking at rest.

Compact rotary positioning
A motorized rotation stage—also called a rotary positioning stage or rotational stage—turns a payload around a controlled axis for angular adjustment of samples, optics and instrument components.
The rotary piezo motor supplies the motion; the complete stage combines the drive, bearings, mounting platform and position feedback. PRECIBEO GO uses piezo walking drives for fine angular movements and high torque in a miniature package. An absolute optical encoder measures position, while the GO Controller provides closed-loop motion control.
Move through large angles and make fine adjustments with the same stage. The 10 µ° minimum incremental motion equals 0.00001°, approximately 0.175 µrad, while unlimited travel supports successive revolutions.
The piezo walking drive provides at least 90 mN·m operating torque and at least 90 mN·m holding torque with power off. Self-locking keeps the platform in position without continuously powering the drive.
The GO-RS4545 measures 45 × 45 × 23 mm and weighs 140 g ±10%, excluding its cable and connector. A 6 mm central aperture provides through-access within a compact mechanical envelope.
Preloaded ball bearings and a piezo drive support smooth continuous motion and fast move-and-settle operation. Maximum speed is 35°/s without load; the specified speed at maximum operating torque is at least 20°/s.
Rotary performance
Build around a compact 45 × 45 mm platform with a 6 mm central aperture, then match payload inertia, torque and speed to your positioning task.

The 2 kg load rating applies in Z. For other mounting directions, consider payload mass, center of gravity, inertia, acceleration and external forces.
For successive full turns, route any payload cables and tubing so they remain clear throughout the intended motion.
The standard and high-vacuum versions share the same motion and load specifications. Only the operating environment and cabling differ.
A GO walking-piezo stage is a strong choice when microdegree increments, unlimited travel, compact dimensions, useful torque and unpowered holding are required together.
Evaluate the complete loaded system—including payload inertia, speed, settling behavior, mounting orientation and cable routing—rather than selecting on angular resolution alone.
Complete your system
Start with one rotary axis and add the motion your application needs. Combine rotary and linear axes in one modular positioning system.

Mount a GO-LS4545 on the rotation stage using the Rotation Stage Adapter Plate for rotation plus radial travel. Combine two GO-LS4545 stages with a GO-RS4545 for XY plus rotation, or add vertical positioning for XYZ plus rotation.
A GO Controller is required and operates up to three stages simultaneously. Two daisy-chained controllers provide six-axis control through one computer connection. Use USB or RS485 through the GO I/O port. Control motion with Precibeo ASCII Rapid commands, GO Motion, GO Command, LabVIEW drivers or DLLs. Add the GO Joystick for convenient manual positioning.
High vacuum
10⁻⁴ Pa
The GO-RS4545HV retains the standard stage’s published angular resolution, torque, speed, dimensions and Z-direction load capacity for operation down to 10⁻⁴ Pa.
PTFE-coated vacuum-side wires run in a braided metal sleeve. Connect the vacuum-side and air-side cables through your D9SUB chamber feedthrough to the GO Controller outside the chamber.
Applications
Angular alignment of optical components and assemblies
Sample orientation within a compact positioning system
Presenting a component at selected measurement angles
Integrated rotary positioning, including high-vacuum setups
Match minimum incremental motion to the measurement or alignment task.
Consider mass, center of gravity and mounting direction. The 2 kg rating applies in Z.
Account for payload inertia, acceleration, external forces and required speed.
Check the aperture, mounting envelope, additional axes, controller and environment.
For successive full turns, plan routes for cables and tubing attached to the rotating platform.
Your questions
The 10 µ° specification describes sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion. Share your positioning requirements so we can assess the complete system.
Yes. Both versions provide mechanically unlimited angular travel. The usable range of an assembled system also depends on clearances and any cables or tubing attached to the rotating payload.
Yes. The walking piezo drive is self-locking at rest, with a specified minimum power-off holding torque of 90 mN·m.
