Find your format

Choose your travel and mounting format

Every format provides the same 5 N or 10 N vertical performance. Choose the precision linear stage that best matches the required travel, mechanical envelope and mounting arrangement.

* Weight without cable and connector, ±10%. All formats are available in standard and high-vacuum versions.

The 2 kg maximum load applies to GO-LS stages in horizontal operation; vertical lifting is determined by force version across all formats.

Compact precision motion

Fine positioning and long travel in one compact stage

A motorized linear stage—also called a linear motion stage, linear positioner or motorized translation stage—positions a payload along one controlled straight axis.

PRECIBEO GO stages use walking-piezo technology to combine nanometer-scale commanded movements with centimeter travel. Repeated microscopic piezo motion produces smooth continuous travel, while the compact drive delivers the high force density required for demanding horizontal and vertical motion.

An integrated optical encoder provides feedback to the GO Controller for closed-loop point-to-point control. The 2 nm value specifies sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion, while typical bidirectional repeatability is ±100 nm over full travel.

Why choose a PRECIBEO GO stage?

Miniature and lightweight

Every GO-LS stage is 45 mm wide and 14 mm high. The 45 × 45 mm GO-LS4545 weighs 75 g excluding its cable and connector; the 35 mm and 50 mm travel models retain the same width and height.

High force density

Choose 5 N or 10 N minimum operating force from the same miniature platform. For vertical use, the rated payload and lifting speed are specified together: 0.5 kg at ≥5 mm/s or 1 kg at ≥1 mm/s. GO-LS stages also support a 2 kg maximum centered load in horizontal operation.

Smooth motion and fast settling

Crossed-roller guidance, closed-loop control and the piezo drive support smooth continuous motion and fast step and settling times.

Self-locking at rest

The stages hold position when power is off: at least 6 N for the 5 N version and 11 N for the 10 N version—especially useful with vertical payloads.

Built for the Z axis

High-force vertical motion in every format

The 5 N version lifts 0.5 kg at a minimum of 5 mm/s; the 10 N version lifts 1 kg at a minimum of 1 mm/s. Every GO linear stage is highly suitable for high-load vertical positioning as well as horizontal motion.

Choose the mounting geometry

GO Elevation provides a flat 45 × 45 mm moving top for convenient direct mounting. GO Vertical Mounts give the low-profile GO-LS stages a vertical top surface for compact XYZ and other multi-axis systems.

Choose the vertical linear stage, motorized Z stage or vertical translation stage format according to travel, space and mounting geometry.

Choose 5 N or 10 N

Choose 5 N for higher speed at its rated operating force or 10 N for greater push/pull force, holding force and vertical lift.

When is a walking-piezo linear stage the right choice?

Compare motion technologies by travel, positioning performance, operating force, vertical payload at a specified speed, duty cycle, space, environment and integration. A force rating alone does not establish vertical lifting capability: stall force describes force at zero speed, while holding force describes resistance to movement at rest.

A GO walking-piezo stage is a strong choice when nanometer-scale increments, centimeter travel, high force, compactness, vertical lifting and unpowered holding are required together.

Complete your system

Build a modular multi-axis positioning system

Use one GO stage as a single-axis nanopositioning stage, combine compatible linear stages for XY or XYZ motion, or add a GO Rotation Stage for XYR and linear-plus-rotation systems.

Combine compatible stages

GO Vertical Mounts support vertical GO-LS axes, while the GO Rotation Stage Adapter Plate mounts a linear stage on a GO Rotation Stage. For high-resolution microscopy, the GO Sample Holder 4545 holds slides and Petri dishes on a three-axis LS4545 assembly.

Control it your way

A required GO Controller operates up to three stages simultaneously. Two daisy-chained controllers provide six-axis control through the same computer connection. Connect over USB and control motion through the Precibeo ASCII Rapid Command Set, GO Motion, GO Command, LabVIEW drivers or C++ DLLs.

High vacuum

10⁻⁴ Pa

Vacuum-compatible linear stages

Every GO linear-stage format has a high-vacuum version for operation down to 10⁻⁴ Pa, retaining the corresponding travel, positioning performance, force options and modular interfaces.

Vacuum-side cabling terminates at a D-sub chamber feedthrough; the supplied air-side cable connects it to the GO Controller. Compatible HV mounts and adapter plates complete the high-vacuum positioning system.

How to choose a precision linear stage

Get help choosing your stage
  1. Travel

    Choose 10, 20, 35 or 50 mm.

  2. Mounting

Choose a low-profile GO-LS, adding a GO Vertical Mount if needed and a flat-top GO Elevation when required.

  3. Force and speed

Match the 5 N or 10 N version to the payload, orientation and required speed.

  4. Positioning

Compare minimum incremental motion, repeatability and geometric accuracy—not resolution alone.

  5. System

Include the controller, axes, interface, accessories, cables and operating environment.

Your questions

Frequently asked questions

Which GO linear stages can be used for vertical positioning?

Every GO-LS format and GO Elevation can be used vertically. The 5 N version lifts 0.5 kg at a minimum of 5 mm/s, while the 10 N version lifts 1 kg at a minimum of 1 mm/s.

When should I choose a vertically mounted GO-LS stage or GO Elevation?

Choose a GO-LS stage with a GO Vertical Mount when a low-profile stage and modular mounting geometry best fit the system. Choose GO Elevation when you need a compact vertical axis with a flat 45 × 45 mm moving top for direct mounting.

Does 2 nm resolution mean 2 nm positioning accuracy?

No. The 2 nm value specifies sensor resolution and minimum incremental motion. Positioning performance must also account for repeatability and geometric accuracy; typical bidirectional repeatability is ±100 nm over full travel.

Is a controller required?

Yes. A GO Controller is required to operate the stages. One controller runs up to three stages simultaneously, and two daisy-chained controllers provide six-axis control through the same computer connection.
